Full Beam Resurfacing Laser

A Meaningful Reset for Skin That Has Accumulated Years of Damage

There is a category of skin concern that lighter treatments address only partially – widespread textural irregularity, deeper acne scarring, etched expression lines, sun damage that has settled into the skin over decades.

For these concerns, Full Beam Resurfacing Laser offers something qualitatively different: a full-surface laser resurfacing treatment that removes damaged outer skin layers in a controlled manner while triggering deep collagen regeneration beneath.

Unlike fractional lasers, which treat the skin in isolated micro-columns, Full Beam Resurfacing Laser treats the skin surface uniformly, producing a deeper and more thorough resurfacing effect. For women in midlife dealing with the combined effects of hormonal collagen loss, decades of sun damage, and both teenage and adult acne scarring, Full Beam Resurfacing Laser offers comprehensive improvement.

How Full Beam Resurfacing Laser Works

Surface renewal

The laser removes damaged outer skin layers in a controlled, uniform manner — eliminating the irregular, photodamaged surface that creates an uneven or textured appearance, and replacing it with new healthy skin as healing completes.

Deep collagen stimulation

Simultaneously, laser energy penetrates to the deeper dermal layers, triggering significant new collagen production. As this collagen matures over months following treatment, it fills scars from below, softens deep lines, and progressively improves overall skin quality.

What Full Beam Resurfacing Laser Addresses

  • Moderate to severe acne scarring e.g. boxcar, rolling, and widespread surface irregularities
  • Deep wrinkles and etched expression lines that have not responded to lighter treatments
  • Uneven skin texture and enlarged pores across the face
  • Sun damage and photodamaged skin – irregular pigmentation, roughness, and thickening
  • Overall loss of skin quality where multiple concerns are present simultaneously
  • Postpartum stretch marks

What Your Laser Journey Looks Like

During treatment

Topical anaesthetic cream is applied, followed by local anaesthetic to ensure comfort. The laser is delivered systematically across the treatment area. Sessions take 30 to 90 minutes depending on extent.

Recovery

This treatment involves typically 1 to 2 weeks of downtime – expect redness, swelling, and crusting as the skin heals. We will provide post-treatment instructions to follow, including skincare and sun avoidance.

Results & treatment schedule

Initial improvement in texture and tone becomes visible once healing is complete. Collagen continues to remodel and improve for 3 to 6 months following each session. Most patients require 3 to 6 sessions spaced several months apart.

How Much Does Full Beam Resurfacing Laser Cost at Prologue?

Full Beam Resurfacing Laser starts from $1,000 per session. The final cost depends on your skin condition, the depth of treatment required, and the number of sessions recommended – all of which are assessed and discussed during your consultation before any commitment is made.

FAQ

How is Full Beam Resurfacing different from a fractional laser?

Fractional lasers treat a percentage of the skin surface per session, limiting the depth of improvement per session. For pronounced or widespread scarring, deep wrinkles, or significant sun damage, uniform Full Beam Resurfacing produces more comprehensive results.

You can expect about 7 to 10 days of downtime. The first 3 to 5 days involve crusting, redness, and tightness. By days 7 to 10 the skin has typically re-surfaced and the most visible signs of recovery have resolved. Planning your treatment around your schedule is important and our doctor will help you do this at consultation.

Most patients see meaningful improvement over 3 to 6 sessions. The number depends on the severity of concerns being treated, skin type, and healing response. Dr Sue will give you a realistic treatment plan and adjust it based on how your skin responds.

Full Beam Resurfacing can be performed on most skin types including Asian and darker skin tones, but treatment parameters require careful calibration to minimise the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Dr Sue will assess this and may recommend a preparatory skincare regimen before treatment.

The structural improvements –collagen remodelling, scar improvement, textural change– are long-lasting. Sun protection and a consistent skincare routine are important to maintain results and prevent new photodamage accumulating.

We do not perform this treatment during pregnancy. This is a precautionary measure to ensure your safety and your baby’s and not a reflection of the treatment’s risk profile in general. If you are currently pregnant and looking for support, we offer a range of women’s wellness services to support you through your pregnancy journey. Please reach out and we will point you in the right direction.

Yes. This treatment is considered safe for women who are breastfeeding. If you have any specific concerns, please mention this at your consultation and our doctor will advise accordingly.

We recommend waiting until at least 6 months postpartum before beginning treatment. This allows your body adequate time to recover from delivery and for your hormone levels to begin stabilising – both of which influence how your skin responds to treatment and the results you can expect.
