Sofwave Singapore

Sofwave – Clinically Proven Ultrasound Lifting With No Downtime

Perimenopause and menopause bring a set of physical changes that are well-documented but rarely addressed as a connected whole. Oestrogen decline accelerates collagen loss in the face, but it also changes how fat is distributed across the body, reduces skin elasticity in the arms, abdomen, and thighs, and causes the overall skin tone that once felt firm and consistent to become progressively looser across multiple areas simultaneously.

Sofwave is one of the few non-invasive treatments effective for both the face and body – using synchronised ultrasound energy to target the mid-dermis wherever skin laxity and loss of firmness are the concern, whether that is the jawline, the brow, the neck, the inner arms, or the abdomen.

It has FDA clearance for the improvement of facial lines, wrinkles, and the lifting of the eyebrows, neck, and under-chin, improvement of acne scars, and a body application that addresses the skin laxity changes that accompany hormonal body composition shifts in perimenopause.

How Sofwave Works

Sofwave’s SUPERB technology delivers parallel ultrasound beams to a calibrated depth of approximately 1.5mm in the mid-dermis, the exact layer where fibroblasts and collagen fibres reside.

At this depth, the controlled heating creates micro-thermal zones that trigger neocollagenesis, the formation of new collagen fibres. As these fibres form and mature over the 8 to 12 weeks following treatment, the skin becomes progressively firmer, fine lines become less visible, and the overall facial contour improves.

Because Sofwave targets the mid-dermis rather than the deep structural layers (as HIFU-based devices like Ultherapy Prime do), it is particularly suited to skin tightening and fine line improvement – making it ideal as an early intervention or for busy mums with mild to moderate laxity who want visible improvement without significant discomfort.

What Sofwave Addresses

Face and Neck

Body

  • Loose, lax skin on the upper arms – one of the most common body concerns in perimenopause
  • Abdominal skin laxity – where hormonal fat redistribution and skin tone changes occur together
  • Inner thigh skin looseness
  • Acne scarring – Sofwave’s collagen stimulation can improve the texture of acne scars on the face and body
  • General skin tone and firmness in areas affected by hormonal collagen loss
  •

What You Can Expect to See

  • Skin that feels visibly firmer and more toned after a course of treatment
  • Fine lines and surface wrinkles softened as new collagen fills the mid-dermis
  • A subtle but noticeable lift in the brow and outer eye area
  • Improved jawline definition and reduced early jowling
  • A natural, refreshed result that develops progressively
  • For perimenopausal women: a practical response to early laxity, most effective when started before significant sagging has occurred

What Your Sofwave Journey Looks Like

During treatment

A cooling gel is applied to the skin surface. The Sofwave handpiece is passed systematically over the treatment area. The integrated cooling protects the epidermis as ultrasound energy is delivered to the mid-dermis. Most patients describe only mild warmth – significantly more comfortable than older HIFU devices. Sessions take approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

After treatment

No downtime. Mild redness that resolves within hours is the most common post-treatment response. Normal activities, makeup, and exercise can be resumed immediately. There is no wound care or skincare restriction required.

Results and treatment schedule

Early tightening may be noticeable within a few weeks. Clinically meaningful improvement typically develops at 8 to 12 weeks as new collagen forms, with continued enhancement over 3 to 6 months. Most patients achieve good results with a single session. Depending on individual skin laxity and desired outcomes, some patients benefit from a second session. Results last up to 12 months; maintenance sessions once or twice a year are advised.

How Much Does Sofwave Cost?

Sofwave starts from $1999 per session. The final cost depends on your skin condition, the number of sessions recommended, and the extent of treatment required – all of which are assessed and discussed during your consultation before any commitment is made.

FAQ

How is Sofwave different from Ultherapy Prime?

The primary difference is depth and mechanism. Sofwave targets the mid-dermis at approximately 1.5mm –producing meaningful skin tightening, fine line improvement, and mild lifting. Ultherapy Prime delivers focused ultrasound energy to the deep dermis and the SMAS layer at 3mm to 4.5mm –the same structural layer targeted in a surgical facelift– producing a more significant structural lift, particularly of the brow and lower face. Sofwave is better suited to early laxity and maintenance; Ultherapy Prime is better suited to moderate laxity where deeper structural lifting is needed. They can also be combined for patients who want both effects.

No, Sofwave is significantly more comfortable than older HIFU devices. The integrated cooling system protects the skin surface and most patients describe only mild warmth during treatment. No anaesthetic is required.

Most patients achieve good results with a single session. Some patients with more significant laxity benefit from a second session several months later. Results last up to 12 months, with maintenance sessions once or twice a year recommended.

Yes. Sofwave has a body application for skin laxity on areas such as the arms, abdomen, and thighs. This is discussed at consultation based on your specific concerns.

Yes, Sofwave is particularly well-suited for women in perimenopause who are noticing the early signs of skin laxity and want to address them before they progress. Early intervention with collagen-stimulating treatments is generally more effective than waiting for more significant sagging to occur.

We do not perform this treatment during pregnancy. This is a precautionary measure to ensure your safety and your baby’s and not a reflection of the treatment’s risk profile in general. If you are currently pregnant and looking for support, we offer a range of women’s wellness services to support you through your pregnancy journey. Yes. This treatment is considered safe for women who are breastfeeding. If you have any specific concerns, please mention this at your consultation and our doctor will advise accordingly.

We recommend waiting until at least 6 months postpartum before beginning treatment. This allows your body adequate time to recover from delivery and for your hormone levels to begin stabilising – both of which influence how your skin responds to treatment and the results you can expect.
