Ultherapy Prime Singapore

Ultherapy Prime – Non-Surgical Lifting of Choice in Midlife Women

There is a specific window in a woman’s life when the face ages faster dramatically. For many women, this happens in the first few years of perimenopause, when oestrogen decline accelerates collagen loss.

Ultherapy Prime addresses face and neck sagging exactly where it originates. It is the only ultrasound-based treatment with FDA clearance for lifting the brow, chin, and neck, and the only non-surgical device that reaches the SMAS layer, the same deep structural layer tightened in a surgical facelift, without incisions or recovery time.

For women navigating perimenopause, menopause, or the postpartum period, Ultherapy Prime offers a clinically validated, single-session annual treatment that addresses structural laxity without downtime.

What Happens to the Face During Perimenopause and Menopause

Understanding why facial ageing accelerates at perimenopause explains why a treatment that reaches deep structural tissue is more effective at this life stage than surface-level interventions.

Collagen loss accelerates sharply

Women lose approximately 30% of dermal collagen in the first five years after menopause in an accelerated window. The face, which relies on collagen density for its firmness and resilience, reflects this loss quickly: skin becomes thinner, less elastic, and less able to support the structures beneath it.

Fat pad redistribution changes facial structure

Oestrogen plays a role in maintaining the facial fat pads – the deep structures that give the face its volume and contour. As oestrogen declines, these pads thin and descend, causing the loss of fullness in the midface and hollowing of eyes. The lower face also becomes heavier as volume migrates downward. These structural changes cannot be addressed by skincare or surface-level treatments.

The SMAS layer loses tension

The SMAS is the deep fibromuscular layer that suspends the facial soft tissue. As this layer loses tension over time, the face descends: the brow droops, jowls form, and the overall facial contour loses its definition. This is the same layer tightened in a surgical facelift; Ultherapy Prime is the only non-surgical treatment that reaches and stimulates this layer.

Postpartum changes compound the picture

For postpartum women, the hormonal withdrawal after delivery triggers a sudden acceleration of the collagen loss and skin laxity that would otherwise occur more gradually. Women in their 30s who have recently delivered may notice facial changes that feel out of proportion to their age. Ultherapy Prime addresses the structural component of this change – the laxity in the brow, lower face, and neck that postpartum hormonal withdrawal can accelerate.

How Ultherapy Prime Works

Ultherapy Prime uses micro-focused ultrasound with visualisation (MFU-V) to deliver precise thermal energy at three distinct depths beneath the skin.

  • 4.5mm – the SMAS layer, the structural layer tightened in surgical facelifts, responsible for lifting the lower face and jawline
  • 3.0mm – the deep dermis and superficial fat layer, responsible for refining and reshaping facial contours
  • 1.5mm – the superficial dermis, for surface skin quality improvement

At each depth, the focused energy creates controlled thermal coagulation points – micro-injuries that trigger the body’s natural collagen-formation and healing response. As new collagen forms and matures over 3 to 6 months following treatment, the face lifts gradually and naturally from the inside out.

The Prime version adds real-time ultrasound visualisation – the treating doctor can see the tissue layers being targeted before and during treatment. This high level imaging is what distinguishes Ultherapy Prime from generic HIFU devices and ensures that energy is delivered at the correct depth for each patient’s anatomy.

What You Can Expect to See

  • A visible and measurable lift in treated areas, particularly the brow, jawline, and neck
  • Jowling that is noticeably reduced
  • A brow lift that opens the eye area without surgery
  • Neck and chin definition that looks more consistent with the face
  • Results that develop gradually and naturally over 3 to 6 months
  • A face that looks like a clearer, more lifted version of itself
  • For perimenopausal women: meaningful correction of the structural changes that hormonal decline can produce in a short period — addressed at exactly the depth where they originate
  • For postpartum women: structural support for the brow, lower face, and neck at a time when hormonal withdrawal has accelerated changes that feel disproportionate to your age

What Your Ultherapy Prime Journey Looks Like

Before treatment

A numbing cream is applied and left for 20 to 30 minutes. Dr Sue will map the treatment areas and confirm the depths to be targeted based on your anatomy and concerns.

During treatment

The Ultherapy Prime handpiece is placed against the skin and ultrasound energy is delivered in precise shots at the planned depths. Real-time imaging allows Dr Sue to see exactly where energy is being delivered. With the Prime device, most patients describe the sensation as brief warmth or tingling as each shot is delivered – significantly more comfortable than the original Ultherapy. Sessions take 45 to 90 minutes depending on the areas treated.

After treatment

Minimal downtime. Mild redness, occasional temporary swelling, or a sensation of tenderness in treated areas may be noticeable for 24 to 48 hours. Normal activities can be resumed the same day. Some patients experience mild tingling in treated areas for a few days – this is a normal and temporary response to the deep tissue treatment.

How soon can I see results with Ultherapy Prime?

Some patients notice a subtle early lift within the first few weeks due to immediate tissue contraction. Noticeable results typically begin at 8 weeks. Full results are seen at 3 to 6 months as new collagen matures. Results last 12 to 18 months. Most patients require one session per year to maintain the lifting effect.

How Much Does Ultherapy Prime Cost?

Ultherapy Prime starts from $2399 for a full face lift. At Prologue, we do targeted lifting too (e.g. only for brows, neck or lower face). The final cost depends on your skin condition, the number of sessions recommended, and the extent of treatment required — all of which are assessed and discussed during your consultation before any commitment is made.

FAQ

My face seems to have aged significantly in the last year or two. Is this normal, and can Ultherapy Prime help?

Yes, and yes. What you are describing is consistent with the accelerated structural change that occurs in the first years of perimenopause – when collagen loss speeds up, fat pads begin to shift, and the deep structural tissue of the face loses tension more quickly than it did in the preceding decade.

Ultherapy Prime addresses the structural component of this change at the depth where it originates –the SMAS layer and deep dermis– producing a lift that surface-level treatments cannot replicate.

A consultation with Dr Sue will help determine whether Ultherapy Prime, or a combination approach, is the right response to the specific changes you are seeing.

Yes. Postpartum hormonal withdrawal –the sharp drop in oestrogen after delivery– can accelerate facial laxity in ways that feel disproportionate to a woman’s age. Brow descent, lower face softening, and neck laxity can all appear or worsen in the months following delivery. Ultherapy Prime is appropriate for women in their 30s with mild to moderate laxity, and we recommend waiting until at least 6 months postpartum before treatment. A consultation will allow Dr Sue to assess whether Ultherapy Prime is the right approach for the specific changes you are experiencing.

Ultherapy Prime is the original and most clinically validated micro-focused ultrasound lifting treatment – with FDA clearance and more than 120 peer-reviewed publications. It uses real-time ultrasound visualisation so the treating doctor can see the tissue layers being targeted, which ensures precision and safety. Generic HIFU devices vary significantly in quality, precision, and clinical evidence. The visualisation capability and SMAS-depth targeting are what distinguish Ultherapy Prime as the gold standard in its category.

The Prime version is significantly more comfortable than the original Ultherapy. Most patients describe brief warmth or tingling as energy is delivered at depth. Numbing cream is applied before treatment. For sensitive patients, additional comfort measures can be discussed at consultation.

Some early tightening may be noticeable within a few weeks. Noticeable lifting typically begins at 8 weeks, with full results at 3 to 6 months as new collagen matures. Because results are produced by your own collagen, they develop gradually and look entirely natural.

Most patients have Ultherapy Prime once a year. Natural ageing –and for perimenopausal women, continued hormonal collagen loss– continues between treatments, and annual sessions help maintain the lifting effect. Some patients with good skin quality find they can extend to 18 months between sessions.

Patients with mild to moderate skin laxity –typically in their 30s to 60s– who want a meaningful non-surgical lifting result. It is particularly relevant for perimenopausal women who have noticed brow drooping, jowling, or neck laxity accelerating in the past year or two, and for postpartum women in whom hormonal withdrawal has produced changes that feel disproportionate to their age.

Yes. This treatment is considered safe for women who are breastfeeding. If you have any specific concerns, please mention this at your consultation and our doctor will advise accordingly.

treatment?

We recommend waiting until at least 6 months postpartum before beginning treatment. This allows your body adequate time to recover from delivery and for your hormone levels to begin stabilising – both of which influence how your skin responds to treatment and the results you can expect.
